Legss, a London art rock quartet, was formed in 2018 by Ned Green and Max Oliver, who were then students at Goldsmiths. The band's origins date back to autumn 2018, when Green and Oliver began rehearsing together under the name Self Help. They were later joined by bassist Jake Martin and drummer Louis Grace, completing the line-up that consists of Ned Green on vocals and guitar, Max Oliver on guitar, Jake Martin on bass, and Louis Grace on drums.

The band's music is a unique blend of art rock, with intricate guitar work, spoken monologues, and a rhythm section that is both precise and unruly. Their songs often explore themes of miscommunication, estrangement, and the uncanny, drawing on the writings of Mark Fisher, a former Goldsmiths lecturer, on culture and late capitalism. Legss' sound has been compared to The Clash, Japan, This Heat, and the music hall act Dan Leno, with their guitar-driven music straying far from the centre and featuring dark sonic expositions and elements of theatre.

Legss have released several EPs, including their debut Writhing Comedy in 2019, Doomswayers in 2020, and Fester in 2023. Their debut album, Unreal, was released in September 2025 through The State51 Conspiracy and features guest performances by Lottie Pendlebury, Felix Stephens, and Nat Philipps. The album explores themes of miscommunication, estrangement, and the uncanny, and represents the band's first use of brass and live strings, aiming for a sense of operatic scale while keeping their tension and abrasive dynamics.

The band's singles, such as Hyde Park Coroner and Gloss, have received critical acclaim, with Steve Lamacq describing Hyde Park Coroner as "rather oblique" on BBC Radio 6 Music. Legss have also been named among the best new artists of 2025 by Stereogum, and their debut album received an 8/10 review from Clash. On Thursday, 26 November 2026, Legss will be performing at The Forum Live Music Venue in Tunbridge Wells. Tickets are with the button beside the article.

Their music is a testament to their unique sound and style, which continues to evolve with each new release. With their blend of art rock, intricate guitar work, and spoken monologues, Legss are a band that is sure to captivate audiences with their energetic and unpredictable live performances.
