About Hidden Beach
Hidden Beach is a cultural programme rooted in music, creativity and shared experience, based in Hastings and St Leonards.
Since its beginnings, Hidden Beach has brought people together through live music, film, food, movement and conversation — creating spaces where culture is not only presented, but practiced together.
A new chapter in 2026
Hidden Beach is excited to announce a significant evolution in 2026, moving from a weekend festival to a month-long programme running from 31 July to 31 August.
This extended format creates space for a richer mix of music, culture, learning and shared experiences, delivered across different moments and settings throughout the month.
From live performances and film nights to workshops, wellbeing activities and community meals, the programme invites people to engage in ways that feel open, welcoming and accessible.
By spreading activity across time and place, Hidden Beach can reach more people, support diverse creative voices and deepen connections with the communities it serves.
Our approach
Hidden Beach is guided by a simple set of values:
-
Culture as something lived and shared, not just consumed
-
Care, inclusion and accessibility at the heart of all activity
-
Support for artists, facilitators and creative practitioners
-
A commitment to listening, reflection and connection
-
Respect for people, place and the environment
We work with local and visiting artists, cultural partners, venues and community organisations to create experiences that are meaningful, inclusive and rooted in care.
Who it’s for
Hidden Beach is for:
-
Local residents and visitors seeking meaningful cultural experiences
-
Artists and facilitators wishing to share their practice in relational ways
-
Families, young people and adults looking for inclusive spaces to gather
-
Anyone curious about culture, creativity and connection
No specialist knowledge is needed to take part — just openness and curiosity.
Looking ahead
Summer of Culture 2026 will take place across Hastings and St Leonards from 31 July to 31 August, working with a range of cultural venues, community spaces and outdoor locations.
We hope you enjoy exploring the programme and becoming part of this shared cultural moment.
With thanks,
Remi Vibesman
