Jan/Feb Monday lunchtime pottery course

This 6-week pottery course is suitable for all levels and takes place in a small loft studio in central Brighton. Classes are kept small with no more than seven people and offer lots of one-to-one tuition. The course will introduce beginners to the fundamental principles of hand-building, including pinch pots, coiling techniques, and the use of soft and hard slabs. More experienced potters can bring their own project ideas and receive support to make them a reality. All potters will have the opportunity to experiment with a range of glazes and decoration techniques. An optional extra throwing session is available in the 7th week for an additional £40. The course price includes use of clay, glazes, underglazes, and slips, but firing costs are charged at £1 per 100g of finished work. Each student can book one catch-up class per term.
