The album TV Tube Heart, released in 1977, was the debut of The Radiators From Space, Ireland's first punk band.

What is the background of the band? The Radiators From Space were formed in Dublin in 1976 and signed to Chiswick Records, releasing their debut single 'Television Screen' in 1977, which became the first punk record to reach the Irish top 20.

How did the band evolve over time? The band released a second album, Ghostown, in 1979, produced by Tony Visconti, but it failed to sell well and the band disbanded in 1981. They reunited in 2003 as The Radiators Plan 9 and later released new material, before effectively ending with the death of Philip Chevron in 2013.

What can fans expect from the new release? The new version of 'Television Screen' stays true to the original's structure and brevity, with a new flip side 'I'm Sick And Tired Of The Internet' that takes aim at modern media. The Radiators From Space will perform at Resident Music, Brighton, on Thursday, 26 November 2026. Tickets are with the button beside the article.
