Television Screen was written by Philip Chevron and originally released in April 1977 on Chiswick Records by The Radiators From Space, a Dublin band delivering a stunning debut in under two minutes. It grabbed the UK weekly music press: five stars and Single Of The Week from Sounds, NME's Tony Parsons loving the energy, and Record Mirror dismissing it as 'more forgettable Punk'. Released in Ireland via CBS Records, it entered the Irish National Top 20 in May 1977 – the first Punk single ever to chart in a national top twenty. Produced by Ace Records co-founder Roger Armstrong, and later singled out by Billboard as among its favourite tracks of the UK punk era. The original remained a highlight of the Radiators' live set until Philip Chevron's death in 2013 brought the band's story to a close. Now Radiators guitarist Pete Holidai re-energises it for the 21st century, staying true to the original's structure and brevity – begun in March 2026 as the follow-up to his 2025 solo album Electric Jukebox Volume One. New flip side 'I'm Sick And Tired Of The Internet' takes aim at modern media the way the original single took aim at television.
