Books Take Centre Stage
Lounge is celebrating the National Year of Reading with a unique initiative, and you're invited to join in. Discover a new way to enjoy reading in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
People will see a bookshelf with a selection of titles available for all ages, and they can take a book and leave one in return, making it a great way to discover new authors and genres. • The 'Blind Date With A Book' events will feature books wrapped in plain paper with intriguing clues, encouraging customers to try something new and step out of their comfort zone. • Book clubs are welcome to use Lounge spaces for free, providing a comfortable and relaxed environment to discuss their latest read. • Customers can reach out to their local Lounge to start or join a book club, making it easy to meet like-minded people and share a passion for reading.
On Monday, 2 November 2026, head to the Alcampo Lounge in Brighton to be a part of this celebration of reading. Tickets are with the button beside the article. With its partnerships with local schools, libraries, and grassroots reading organisations, Lounge is committed to championing reading in the community, making this a great opportunity to get involved and meet other book lovers.
