2026 is the National Year of Reading, and Lounge is supporting this initiative by inviting customers to use their local Lounge as a space to champion reading. Each Lounge has a bookshelf with a selection of titles available for all ages, and customers can take a book and leave one in return. Lounge is also working to create partnerships with local schools, libraries, and grassroots reading organisations. Additionally, Lounges will be hosting 'Blind Date With A Book' events, where books are wrapped in plain paper with intriguing clues, encouraging customers to try something new. Book clubs are also welcome to use Lounge spaces for free, and customers can reach out to their local Lounge to start or join a book club.
