Hastings Contemporary

Hastings Contemporary, a coastal gallery, originated from a bold mission to explore ocean futures and sustainability.

The gallery's programme includes a range of exhibitions and events, such as Pearls of the Sea, a flagship schools programme, and The Sun Feeds the Wind, which preserves the stories of the Hastings Fishing Fleet. Art for Your Oceans is another exhibition that features new works created in seaweed ink.

On Sunday, 1 November 2026, the gallery will host Ocean Futures at Hastings Contemporary in Hastings. Tickets are with the button beside the article. The event is part of the gallery's ambition to reimagine what a gallery by the sea can be, a place where art, climate, and community meet.

The gallery's Mobile Studio also offers workshops and creative experiences throughout the town and wider region, further highlighting the gallery's commitment to engaging the community in ocean sustainability and art.
