Berliner Philharmoniker Rings in New Year

Are you looking for a unique way to celebrate New Year's Eve? The Berliner Philharmoniker's concert, led by chief conductor Kirill Petrenko, might be just the thing.

The programme features Sergei Prokofiev's Symphonie classique, which parodies the music of Haydn and Mozart, and Dmitri Shostakovich's Double Concerto for Piano and Trumpet, performed by pianist Alexander Malofeev and principal trumpeter David Guerrier. The concert will also include Richard Strauss’s Till Eulenspiegel’s Merry Pranks, a piece that showcases Petrenko's ability to convey mischief and humour through music.

The concert takes place on Thursday, 31 December 2026, at the Duke of York's Picturehouse, Brighton. Tickets are with the button beside the article. This event is perfect for those who appreciate classical music and are looking for a lively and entertaining way to ring in the new year.
