Where Else? (Margate)

People will learn about the history of DIY independent online radio and how to use it to tell their story and find their audience. The workshop, led by Paul Camo, will cover the basics of producing a live show broadcast, and participants will have the chance to produce a one-hour collective live show broadcast. Attendees are asked to bring USBs of their favourite tracks to include in the broadcast.

Paul Camo, founder and director of Margate Radio, has a background in graphic design and has hosted a flagship show on NTS Radio since 2012. He has also curated music for various events, including the Turner Prize opening at Turner Contemporary and Somerset House. With support from the Margate Radio team, including Tim Garatt and Cat Staffell, this workshop will provide a comprehensive introduction to the world of DIY radio.

The workshop will take place on Monday, 2 November 2026, at Where Else? in Margate. Tickets are with the button beside the article. With his experience as a life coach for creative professionals and Creative Director of Studio Camo, Paul Camo is well-placed to guide participants in finding their voice and sharing their story with a wider audience.

As a volunteer-run, independent, licensed internet radio station, Margate Radio has grown into a station with more than 90 shows, broadcasting varied content from Margate and Thanet locals every weekend. The workshop draws on this experience, offering a unique opportunity to learn from experienced broadcasters and producers.
