Deep Sea Tales

The town of Whitstable has a long history of myths and folklore, and a new community project is set to add to this rich cultural heritage. • Guided workshops and drop-in sessions will be held throughout July, where participants can create models and carnival props for the Oyster Parade. • The Horsebridge galleries will host a summer exhibition featuring the parade models, inspiring pictures, local stories, and legends, as well as materials for visitors to express their creativity. • In August, a special programme of creative activities for young people will include storytelling, drawing, and animating workshops, led by local storyteller Stella Fry.

The project, 'They Came From The Deep', will run from Sunday, 25 July 2027 to Monday, 9 August 2027 at The Horsebridge Arts Centre in Whitstable. Tickets are with the button beside the article. With its unique blend of local inspiration, community involvement, and creative expression, this project is a great way to experience the best of Whitstable's culture and folklore.
