Jubilee Tea Party Exhibition

What sparks your interest in a traditional British tea party? Perhaps it's the delicate china, the dainty sandwiches, or the warm atmosphere. The Horsebridge Arts Centre's upcoming exhibition, '70 Years in the making', offers a fresh twist on this classic theme.

The exhibition is the culmination of a celebratory community project, made possible by funding from the Arts Council's Let's Create Jubilee Fund. Over five weeks, the community came together to craft various elements of a tea party, from knitted sandwiches to commemorative tableware.

The project involved a range of creative workshops, specialist craft sessions, and free craft kits, allowing participants to contribute to the tea party in their own unique way. A 1950s living room was recreated, complete with archive film footage, adding an extra layer of depth to the exhibition. The community's handmade food items and decorative pieces will be on display, showcasing the talent and creativity of local residents. The exhibition will run from Wednesday, 28 April 2027, to Thursday, 13 May 2027, at The Horsebridge Arts Centre in Whitstable. Tickets are with the button beside the article.
