The Horsebridge Arts Centre was awarded funding from the Arts Council's Let's Create Jubilee Fund to create a celebratory community project, '70 Years in the making', a TEA PARTY with a twist. The community helped craft all the different parts of a classic British tea party, from knitted sandwiches to table decorations, felted biscuits to commemorative tableware. Over 5 weeks, free creative workshops, specialist craft sessions, and free craft kits were offered to make parts of the tea party. A 1950's living room was recreated with archive film footage about the coronation and other events of that time. Volunteers joined in the free creative workshops or made craft kits at home. The community brought in their own handmade food items for the table. The pieces that the participants didn't want back were shared amongst local early years settings as play food. The centre also ran a fun competition for young people to colour in and decorate a Horsebridge Corgi. A programme of workshops was created to make every element of the Jubilee tea party. The People's Flower Project was also part of the jubilee celebrations, where the community made huge blooms of flowers that represented a wide range of feelings about the Jubilee. The project included a short film and two free workshops where anyone could drop in and work with artist Camille Serisier to make their own flowers. Various other workshops were held, including a mono print workshop, a jubilee ceramic bowl workshop, a wet felted flower workshop, a ceramic decorative workshop, and a make a jubilee vase workshop.
