Join Wriggle Room at Towner
Towner's free programme for under-5s and their caregivers is a fun and creative way to spend time together. With crafting activities, story-time, and sensory play, Wriggle Room is the perfect place for little ones to develop social skills and make new friends.
Originating from a four-year early years' partnership with Willingdon Trees Community Centre, Wriggle Room has evolved into a thriving programme that encourages child-caregiver collaboration through creative activities. The sessions, developed by artists with Towner's Learning team, provide an informal space for open-ended making, play, and story-time.
Tanvi Kant, the current Lead Artist, brings her expertise in repurposing reclaimed textiles to the programme. With over 15 years of experience running workshops in various settings, Kant's practice includes textile jewellery, participatory installations, collage, and sculpture. Her work explores connection to the natural environment around Eastbourne and East Sussex, making Wriggle Room a great way for children to engage with their surroundings.
The programme will take place on selected Tuesdays during term time, starting from Tuesday, 3 November 2026, until Tuesday, 19 January 2027, at Towner in Eastbourne. Tickets are with the button beside the article. With its step-free access, spaces for buggies, baby-change, and cafe on the ground floor, Towner provides a welcoming environment for families to enjoy Wriggle Room together.
