The Social Singing Choir: Carol-aoke

The Social Singing Choir invites you to a very different kind of carol service. On the 15th of December, they're putting on a Carol-oke at Where Else?. It's their version of a carol service where people can come along to sing with the choir. There'll be lots of singalong moments with the choir singing live harmonies, and they'll also be showing off the Christmas numbers they've been working on. It will be Christmas classics instead of hymns. After the carol-oke, there'll be DJs, a little Christmas quiz, and a prize for the most christmassy outfit. Margate's Social Singing Choir was formed in 2017 with a simple idea: no auditions, no need of previous experience, just a place in the community to sing some awesome songs together and have a good time. They have played shows across the south east, supporting SELF ESTEEM, as well as performing at the opening of the Turner Prize. The Social Singing Choir have also featured on several recordings.
