Reading Festival is one of the largest and oldest music festivals in the world. It attracts nearly 100,000 music fans every August bank holiday for an unforgettable festival with some of the biggest names in music. The festival features a range of performances, including rock, indie, metal, dance, and hip-hop. There are also pop-up bars and food trucks on the site, providing everything from fish and chips to freshly made doughnuts. The festival has a long history, dating back to the 1960s, and has hosted many famous performers over the years, including The Rolling Stones, Nirvana, and Eminem. The main stage hosts big acts, while the second stage hosts up-and-coming names. The festival offers different camping options, including standard camping, an eco-campsite, and a quiet campsite. Alternatively, attendees can book a comfy room at a nearby hotel, such as the Premier Inn Reading Caversham Bridge hotel, which is just a five-minute walk from the main stages. The festival is held on Richfield Avenue, near the River Thames, and is easily accessible by train or car. There are many fun things to do in Reading after the festival, including visiting attractions like Reading Abbey Ruins and Wellington Country Park.
