The Gulbenkian Arts Centre is looking for performers aged 13-19 to be part of the cast for this year’s National Theatre Connections play, The Manhattan Project, by Rasmus Lindberg, translated by Edward Buffalo Bromberg. The play is about a girl named Katya who escapes into an extraordinary dream where she becomes a hard-boiled private detective in 1940s New York. She must rescue Albert Einstein before the Nazis can force him to help build the atomic bomb. The project involves directors from the National Theatre and will lead to performances at both the Gulbenkian Theatre and Trinity Theatre. Rehearsals will start in November and the key dates are 6th February for the preview, 6th and 7th March for the Gulbenkian performances, and 2nd May for the Trinity Theatre performance. Auditions will be held on 31st October and 1st November. The Gulbenkian Arts Centre wants to make auditions and rehearsals accessible for all, so if you need help or support, please let them know. To apply, please complete the online form by Monday 26th October.
