Dancer Daniel Squire will perform a site-specific, durational, dance-installation piece on Hastings beach in response to the Edge: Where the Land Meets the Sea exhibition. The work explores movement and stillness, water and land, sound and silence, light and darkness, performativity and existence in relation to the spatial and temporal elements of the foreshore. Daniel will dance from 4:30pm to 6pm, just after sunset, on Rock-a-Nore beach, near the harbour arm. Daniel Squire is a dancer who has performed with Michael Clark Company and Merce Cunningham Dance Company, and has had his own choreographic work commissioned by various venues and festivals. He is also an internationally-recognised stager of Merce Cunningham’s work. The event is free and no booking is required.
