Flyte is a project of English songwriters Will Taylor and Nick Hill, who met at secondary school and settled in Hackney, London. Taylor’s parents, both English teachers, influenced the duo’s music with literary references, including the band’s name from Sebastian Flyte of Evelyn Waugh’s Brideshead Revisited. After releasing two critically acclaimed albums, they established themselves as influential. Their first album, The Loved Ones, explored people’s struggles to process love, while their second album, This Is Really Going To Hurt, focused on the aftermath of relationships ending. Flyte have now teamed up with Andrew Sarlo again to record their most confident and collaborative work to date, a self-titled album inspired by Taylor’s relationship with partner and artist Billie Marten, exploring love in its early forms and featuring artists like Laura Marling and Bombay Bicycle Club.
