An 18th century 'African' prince is transformed into a vampire while visiting Transylvania, 200 years later, he awakens in 1970s Brooklyn - New York. Part of the blaxploitation movement, starring the smooth William Marshall, and created by a Black director William Crain this 1972 horror is endearingly trashy, has costumes & facial hair to die for and was made for the grand sum of $500,000. Yes it is of its time - in all the good, bad and complicated ways - but it's definitely not one to leave buried. It's the perfect late-night Halloween watch - it will leave you laughing out loud but looking over your shoulder on the walk home!
