This is definitely an unique take on Santa. I just wish the story was a little better.

_Arthur Christmas_ is often praised as a modern holiday classic, something people happily rewatch every Christmas season. Unfortunately, for me it turned out to be the exact opposite: a film that actively repels rather than warms, and one I couldn’t finish without forcing myself. Despite endless repetitions of “Merry Christmas,” the film is almost completely devoid of any genuine Christmas spirit. There is no sense of quiet, warmth, or intimacy…

Since I saw the Chicken Run movie, I have always loved the Aardman studio's animation style. This time, they decided to make this film in 3D animation instead of doing it in the Stop-Motion style. And coincidentally, it worked perfectly with the type of story it has told. Honestly, I really liked how they set the typical Santa Claus story in a not-too-distant "future"; clearly one of the strong points of this film.

Good movie, it has moments of decline but in general it is good... and like any good children's animated film: unforgettable characters. Recommended for these dates.
