9 Jan 2027 – 13 Feb 2027

Hot Fox Pottery (Brighton)

The chance to learn pottery techniques in a class of no more than seven people is a rare opportunity, and one that Hot Fox Pottery is offering in their upcoming Saturday morning course. Starting on 9 January 2027, this six-week course will run every Saturday from 10am to 12:30pm, providing a relaxed and focused environment for students to develop their skills. With hand-building techniques, including pinch pots, coiling, and soft and hard slabs, on the curriculum, students will have the chance to explore different methods and find what works best for them.

The course is designed to be inclusive, welcoming students of all levels, from complete beginners to those with some pottery experience. For more experienced students, the course offers the flexibility to work on independent projects, allowing them to take their skills to the next level. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to experiment with glazes and decoration techniques, adding an extra layer of creativity to their work. The course price includes all the necessary materials, such as clay, glazes, underglazes, and slips, although firing costs are extra, charged at £1 per 100g of finished work.

One of the unique features of this course is the optional extra throwing session available in the 7th week, which can be booked for an additional £40. This provides students with the chance to try their hand at throwing on the potter's wheel, a valuable skill for any potter. Furthermore, each student can book one catch-up class per term, ensuring that they don't fall behind if they need to miss a session. With its supportive and intimate setting, this course is an ideal way to learn and develop pottery skills, and with tea included, students can expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The course will take place at Hot Fox Pottery in Brighton, and tickets are on sale: tickets are with the button beside the article. Running until 13 February 2027, this six-week course offers a comprehensive introduction to pottery, and with its flexible and supportive approach, it's an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to learn and develop their skills. Whether you're looking to try something new or build on existing experience, this course provides a unique and valuable learning experience.
