Tree Removal in the Royal Pavilion Garden
5 Nov 2026 – 6 Nov 2026
Royal Pavilion (Brighton)
The Royal Pavilion Garden in Brighton has been undergoing restoration work as part of the A Garden Fit For a King project, led by Brighton & Hove City Council. This project aims to reconnect the estate through conservation, restoration, and improved visitor experience.
As part of this project, tree removal is taking place across the estate from Wednesday 4 to Friday 6 November 2026. The removal includes a Monterey Pine, a Chusan Palm, a poorly grown Lime tree, and a pollarded Lime tree on the south border. Additionally, two Elm trees near the public toilets and café will be reduced to prevent them from collapsing under their own weight.
The tree removal is a crucial step in the restoration process, which will allow for the reopening of the original Nash views framing the historic buildings. The removed trees will be replaced with new trees and plants in better positions, following Regency garden design principles.
The event will take place on Thursday, 5 November 2026, at the Royal Pavilion in Brighton, and will continue until Friday, 6 November 2026. Tickets are with the button beside the article. This project is an exciting development for the Royal Pavilion Garden, and the tree removal is a key part of its transformation into a safer, greener, and more welcoming space.
