After watching Robot Dreams, I feel really sick. The movie hit me hard, especially at the end, where it overwhelmed me and tore my heart apart. This animated film is unlike any other. It's beautiful, celebratory, sad, and touching, all without needing words. It's straightforward yet packs a powerful punch, exploring life, feelings, and connections in a profound way. I loved Robot Dreams. It's a beautifully delicate look into friendship, love,…

To the person who said this was Past Lives with robots, that's the most accurate review for this movie. The world had it out for these two.

_Robot Dreams_ is the kind of movie that will really re-affirm my love for the animation medium. What sets it apart for me is the storytelling style is more like an actual piece of cinema than most animations. Pablo Berger's directing chops are on full display here. I didn’t expect to be so moved by an animated film with no speech or dialogue… but honestly that’s the beauty of this film… it says more than most films that have dialogue. And the song September will have extra meaning once you see this film. And how they incorporate the song O’ Danny Boy and different neighborhoods and musical sounds and influences of New York - it superb. I can totally see why this was nominated for an Oscar.

A daring film—not so much for its lack of dialogue, but for its ambition to explore themes that are anything but trivial. Don’t let the familiar premise fool you. The middle section includes several striking and surreal sequences, though it could have easily been half as long.

Addicted to microwavable mac 'n cheese, he catches a glimpse of a couple in the apartment block opposite and that makes him feel a little lonesome. A timely ad on the television, though, suggests he buy a robot pal. An huge great box duly arrives and a Meccano project that might have daunted Da Vinci ensues. Success! Soon the pair…
