In a world of myth and legend, a young prince's fate is bound to an immortal king's quest for vengeance, setting the stage for an epic struggle. Based on the ancient Indian poem, Ramayana: Rise of a Legend tells the story of Rama, a prince driven by duty and honour, and Ravana, a king consumed by ambition and revenge. The film boasts an impressive cast, including Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, and Sai Pallavi, and is directed by Nitesh Tiwari, whose previous film Dangal remains the highest-grossing Indian film worldwide.

The film is a result of a collaboration between acclaimed filmmakers, including producer Namit Malhotra, whose visual effects company has worked on films like The Odyssey and Interstellar, and composers Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, who have both won Academy Awards for their work. With a budget of ₹4,000 crore, it is set to be the most expensive Indian film ever made, and its release coincides with the Diwali holidays. The film's score, composed by Zimmer and Rahman, marks Zimmer's debut in the Indian film industry.

Ramayana: Rise of a Legend is the first part of a two-part film series, based on the epic poem by Valmiki. The project was initially conceived as a trilogy but was later restructured under Tiwari's direction. Filming took place in Mumbai from April 2024 to July 2025, and the film premiered at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on 27 October 2026. The English dub of the film will be shown at ODEON Hastings from Monday, 2 November to Friday, 6 November. Tickets are with the button beside the article.
