Create Your Own Lanterns This November

As the winter months approach, the town of Folkestone is gearing up for its festive celebrations, and what better way to get into the spirit than by creating your own lanterns. On Saturday, 28 November 2026, at the Quarterhouse in Folkestone, children will have the chance to make their own lanterns using natural materials, with the guidance of Bee Free on the Farm and the Folkestone Living Advent Calendar.

These lanterns can be taken home to adorn the family mantlepiece, or brought along to the first night's door of the Folkestone Living Advent Calendar, where they will be used to light the way. Alternatively, children can leave their lanterns for the performers to use on stage, adding an extra special touch to the evening's festivities.

The workshop is a great way for children to get creative and express themselves, while also being a part of the town's festive celebrations. It's a fun and hands-on session that is sure to delight children and parents alike.

Bee Free on the Farm and the Folkestone Living Advent Calendar are the hosts behind this event, bringing their expertise and enthusiasm to create a unique and enjoyable experience for all participants.
