The University of Kent Chorus has recently performed notable pieces such as Vivaldi's Gloria, Fauré's Requiem, and Mozart's Coronation Mass. As an un-auditioned choir of around 100 singers, the group is open to students, staff, and alumni, as well as local community members who can join after an audition. The choir rehearses weekly on Monday evenings at the Colyer-Fergusson Building on the Canterbury campus and prepares three concerts a year alongside the University Symphony Orchestra.

The Chorus is conducted by Head of Music Performance Daniel Harding, who also leads the Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Choir, and other ensembles. The group's performances take place in Colyer-Fergusson Hall, which can accommodate a 200-strong chorus and up to an 80-piece orchestra. Each March, the Chorus and Orchestra come together for the annual Colyer-Fergusson Concert in the nave of Canterbury Cathedral, a major event in the University's cultural calendar.

The University of Kent Chorus & Orchestra's concert on Saturday, 5 December 2026, at the Gulbenkian Arts Centre in Canterbury, will feature a festive programme, including Chilcott's Wenceslas. The event is part of a seasonal weekend of music, offering something for all ages. Tickets are with the button beside the article.

The Chorus's involvement with the local community is a key aspect of their activities, with external members able to join the group after an audition.
