Watched this without any prior knowledge about it except it seemed like a good horror movie. This is one of the best horror movies I've ever watched!

Damned interesting atmospherically, particularly the exteriors. Solid performance from Fredric March, though I admit, I half expected him to break into a little song and dance each time he completed the transformation to Hyde. Just something about the way he expressed his excitement in the moment. Very enjoyable watch on the whole.

[4.5/10] This was on my watchlist for such a long time. I’ve had a soft spot for the story since the first time I ever heard it. But honestly, I didn’t love this adaptation. I always try to adjust my perspective with vintage films, understanding how groundbreaking many were at the time, and I can appreciate the strong performance and creative cinematography here. The visual effects during the transformation scenes were particularly impressive…

Not because of how the movie was made, but more because of how the story was adapted. Although I'm not so familiar with the origin story, while watching, I had the feeling that something was off. I mean, he literally created a potion to make another self just so that he could cheat on his wife, kidnap a woman, and…

I have no soul. I'm beyond the pale. I'm one of the living dead! It's one of the most famous pieces of literature ever written, a genius piece of story telling from the trippy mind of Robert Louis Stevenson. That it has consistently been ripe for film and stage adaptations, and continues to be so since it first surfaced in written form in 1866, is testament to what a devilishly intelligent piece of work it is. This 1931 version, directed by…
