In the midst of a snowy winter, a young and ambitious director, played by Hannah Einbinder, sets out to revive a faded horror franchise, Camp Miasma, by tracking down the reclusive original star, played by Gillian Anderson. As the two women meet, they fall into a world of obsession, fear, and blood-soaked delusion, blurring the lines between reality and fiction. This surreal and deeply strange film is a satire of traditional horror, incorporating diverse stylistic aspects and pushing the boundaries of the genre.

Jane Schoenburn cooked with this one for sure but yeah if you are not familiar with their work then you probably wouldn’t like Miasma, but it’s still a good Queer representation. It’s both funny and also romantic in particular invoking the characters of Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson, speaking of which their performance is still amazing. The whole Zoom meeting scene of Einbinder telling her idea of a reboot is pretty funny. Also the…

I have never felt so seen by a film before. Hannah Einbinder was transcendent, Gillian Anderson was completely captivating as always. No notes, loved it

Infuriatingly nonsensical and pretentious. And it started off so well! What a waste. The first 10min were interesting. Then it went downhill and the second half was pure cringe and pain. I felt sorry for making my girlfriend endure this. If there was any clear message about homosexuality or growing up or slasher movies or sex, I would be all here for it. There are movies that tackle those subjects and you go out and feel like you learnt…

What the H was that?! If there's some sort of special message there, well, they failed to communicate it. I think everyone are just afraid to hate on it, or else they might get called -phobic.
