The finale of Wagner's epic saga will feature the brilliant cast, led by Elisabet Strid, Andreas Schager, and Mika Kares, performing alongside the full forces of the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House and the Royal Opera Chorus. This dramatic conclusion tells the story of Siegfried's betrayal of Brünnhilde and the devastating consequences that follow. The music, including Siegfried's Funeral March and Brünnhilde's Immolation Scene, will be conducted by Antonio Pappano, Conductor Laureate of The Royal Opera.

The production, directed by Barrie Kosky, situates the rich apocalyptic drama in a contemporary world of dream-like turmoil, bringing a fresh perspective to the classic tale. The story unfolds with deception leading to treachery, then devastation, as Brünnhilde ultimately returns the ring to the Rhinemaidens and orders Valhalla to be swallowed in flames.

The event will take place on Monday, 8 February 2027, at the Duke of York's Picturehouse, Brighton, and will conclude on Tuesday, 9 February 2027, at 23:00. Tickets are with the button beside the article.
