Discover Local Talent at Scum Of Thanet
Join the celebration of Margate's creative community with an evening of spoken word, music, and art, all while supporting a great cause. This event is a showcase of local talent, with all profits going to MiCommunity Margate.

Eleanor Cooke and Dolly Springthorpe, two friends from Margate, started Scum Of Thanet as a bi-monthly showcase of local talent, with Eleanor running the events and Dolly helping to host them. Their goal was to create a platform for isle artists, poets, and musicians to share their work, while also raising money for MiCommunity Margate, a social shop that provides subsidised goods and support services to the community.
What kind of entertainment can I expect? The event features a lineup of local talent, including spoken word, music, and a sale of art from local artists, offering a unique and diverse experience for attendees.
Who is behind the event? Scum Of Thanet is the creation of Eleanor Cooke and Dolly Springthorpe, who have been working together to bring this community night to life, with Eleanor organising the events and Dolly helping to host them.
When and where can I attend the event? The event will take place on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, at Where Else? in Margate, and tickets are with the button beside the article.
