The idea of combining stories, music, and movement to create a shared experience for babies and their grown-ups is one that originated from a passion for early childhood development. By bringing together these different elements, the creators of Books and Boogie aim to help children build confidence, creativity, and a love of books that will last a lifetime. This approach is based on the understanding that young children learn and develop through interactive and engaging experiences, and that movement and music can play a key role in this process.

Each session of Books and Boogie is carefully designed to bring stories to life through a range of activities, including storytime, playful dancing and actions, simple songs and rhythms, and the use of colourful props and imagination. The classes are designed to be flexible and responsive to the needs and interests of the children, with a focus on shared moments between child and adult. By moving and responding to the narrative, children can extend their focus and attention, and develop their language and communication skills.

The classes will take place in the theatre foyer of the Theatre Royal Brighton, providing a unique and inspiring setting for the sessions. The partnership between Books and Boogie and ATG INSPIRE has made it possible to deliver these high-quality classes, which are perfect for little ones who love stories and those who have a hard time sitting still. With discounts available for siblings and 4-week block bookings, the classes are accessible and affordable for families.

The Books and Boogie classes will run from Tuesday, 3 November 2026 to Tuesday, 24 November 2026, and will take place weekly. The venue for the classes is the Theatre Royal Brighton, Brighton. Tickets are with the button beside the article. By attending these classes, parents and caregivers can give their children the gift of a lifelong love of books and learning, and create special memories and bonding experiences along the way.

The combination of stories, music, and movement in the Books and Boogie classes makes for a fun and engaging experience that is both entertaining and educational. With its focus on interactive and shared experiences, the programme is well-suited to the needs and interests of young children, and provides a unique and valuable opportunity for families to spend quality time together.
