John Proctor is the Villain Hits Brighton
A critically-acclaimed play about girlhood and power is coming to Brighton. This production has been hailed as one of the most compelling new plays of recent years.

Originating from a sold-out run at the Royal Court, Kimberly Belflower's play JOHN PROCTOR IS THE VILLAIN is set to make its mark in Brighton.
The play is set in a small town where five young women reveal a darker truth stirring beneath the surface, accompanied by a soundtrack of pop, adrenaline, and barely-contained rage. As they begin to question everything, they take control of the narrative for themselves, exploring themes of girlhood, power, and courage.
Directed by Tony Award-winner Danya Taymor, this production has received critical acclaim, with the Financial Times describing it as 'joyous, blazingly intelligent'. The play will be showing at the Theatre Royal Brighton from Wednesday, 3 February 2027 until Sunday, 25 April 2027. Tickets are with the button beside the article.
