Loved the action, loved the design of the aliens. Always love to see original sci-fi that isn’t a sequel, prequel, reboot or based on a book. Just wish they would’ve explained the aliens and their backstories a bit more. Just when you feel like you were going to start learning more about the aliens, their motivations etc the movie ends.

There are moments of brilliance and mediocrity in this South Korean sci-fi action epic, but I’m grateful a blockbuster like this even exists, because we rarely get them nowadays. Made on a $46 million budget, a fraction of what you’d normally expect for a movie of this scale, it’s occasionally hampered by the fact that its ambition is much greater than its ability to execute. The CGI can be comically bad, at times resembling dated PS2 graphics,…

Why was this 3 hours? Why didn't the movie end after the first monster was killed? Why did the whole 2nd half of the movie need to exist at all? Especially to only to torture us with an insanely confusing and abrupt cliffhanger akin to the end of Halo 2? Wtf did I just watch? I have so many questions

"Hope" is a South Korean sci-fi action thriller about a police chief who, with the help of a rookie deputy and other locals, fights off a mysterious creature that has brought destruction and death throughout the town. Right from the start, the film creatively showcases the sheer chaos the town is facing by hiding the reveal of the creature until it is necessary, making its eventual appearance even more terrifying. The set designs are well put…

For a movie that spends a significant portion of its runtime in frenetic, action-packed chase sequences, I found this film disappointingly boring. It certainly doesn't help that the action is incredibly repetitive, with almost every action beat repeated not just once or twice, but often five, six, or more. This ties directly to the bloated runtime, which feels unnecessary given the simplicity of the story. Compare this to Resident Evil, which I…

Everything aside, the MATTER OF DETAILS in this film is just outerearthly! Have never seen such SETTING and the camera moves that SMOOTHLY blends into CHAOS. Cannot wait to see the next Parts. Second part will be from the perspective of Aliens. 🥰
