Clayface did something I no longer believed comic book movies were willing to do: push into entirely new territory. Sure, I could pick some nits, but I don't want to. I'd rather applaud what James Watkins accomplished. He entertained me to the point that I forgot how sick and tired I am of superhero movies. Unfortunately, they'll inevitably ruin it with Clayface 2, and Clayface 3, and Clayface 4, and Clayface 5, and Clayface 6, and...

Honestly, this felt more like a tragedy than a traditional comic book movie, and I absolutely loved it. I’ve always considered Clayface one of Batman’s most tragic villains. Hell, you could make that argument about most of his rogues gallery, but there’s something particularly heartbreaking about Matt Hagen’s story. I immediately think back to the *Batman: The Animated Series* episode “Feat of Clay,” which really captured the sadness behind the…

It was kinda good movie I guess ? I was entertained but unfortunately it was too conventional. A mob boss in Gotham...again. The body horror didn't go far enough, I wish they'd made it bolder, more horrific, more original. Good performance from Tom Rhys Harries.

Body horror on a whole other level for DC The pacing is so good, the CGI looks great, and there are already so many iconic lines and scenes. And that storyline?? Actually insane. Probably one of my top DC movies🙂‍↕️ Mike Flanagan is becoming a new favorite writer/director

I really liked how the movie makes you get to know Matt, grow attached to him, and get genuinely angry at all the injustices he goes through. When things start happening, you find yourself rooting for him at first. You understand him, you sympathize with him… but make no mistake, he has become a monster. As for the horror, it’s more about discomfort, anguish, and a little bit of disgust — and honestly, the effects are absolutely amazing. 🖤
