Deal's Astor Theatre hosts Edwyrdian Tales

A Christmas celebration is not typically associated with terror, but that's exactly what's in store at The Astor Theatre in Deal this December. On Thursday, 3 December 2026, Matthew Wood's Edwyrdian Tales will present a night of ghostly tales, featuring three haunting stories that are sure to send shivers down the spine.

The evening's programme includes "Lucky's Grove", a cautionary tale about the dangers of bringing the wrong Christmas tree into one's home, and "The Wendigo", a chilling story about a hunting party stalked by a supernatural presence in the pine forests. The third tale, "The Elder Son", is an original story by Matthew Wood, about a father who tries to carve the perfect Christmas gift, only to bitterly regret it.

These bone-chilling tales are brought to life by Matthew Wood in a one-man performance, directed by himself.
