Join Charlie Hula in Brighton

As we consider the evolving landscape of contemporary music, one question comes to mind: what happens when an artist combines the nostalgia of 70s rock with the experimental nature of psychedelic grooves and folk? For Charlie Hula, this fusion has resulted in a distinctive sound that is both deeply personal and universally relatable. Born and raised in Brighton, now based in Bristol, Hula has spent years honing his craft, gigging with bands, and collaborating with like-minded musicians, including the Brighton indie-rock group Social Wildcard.

With the release of his debut album Goodness Grief on the horizon, Hula is embarking on a solo tour that will showcase his ability to craft immersive, layered soundscapes using a few instruments, a loop pedal, and improvisational jams. This approach allows him to explore the new songs in a dynamic, spontaneous way, creating a unique experience for each audience. The album itself is a testament to Hula's growth as a songwriter, delving into themes of healing and the transformative power of difficult experiences.

On Saturday, 31 October 2026, Charlie Hula will bring his solo tour to The Folklore Rooms in Brighton. Tickets are with the button beside the article. As we anticipate this performance, we are reminded that the true beauty of music lies in its ability to evoke emotions, spark connections, and transcend boundaries.
