BABESLAM Competition Heats Up

Originating from a desire to showcase emerging talent, BABESLAM has created a space where performers can share their work without needing prior experience. This approach has led to the development of a unique event that combines poetry, performance, and comedy, all centered around a theme that inspires creativity and self-expression. On Wednesday, 4 November 2026, the event will take place at Where Else? in Margate, offering a captivating experience for attendees.

The format of the event is designed to be engaging and unpredictable, with 10 performers competing for the BABESLAM title. Each performer will have just 3 minutes to showcase their skills, using the theme 'DON'T GO BREAKIN MY HEART' as inspiration if they choose to do so. The twist comes in the form of the scoring system, where 3 random audience members will decide the winner, adding an element of surprise to the competition. The winner will be rewarded with the opportunity to headline the next slam, providing a valuable platform for their work.

ELZ will host the event, bringing their expertise and energy to the stage. As the host, ELZ will ensure that the evening runs smoothly and that the performers have the support they need to showcase their talents. The event is dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community, providing a safe and inclusive space for people to express themselves and connect with others. With its focus on creativity, community, and self-expression, BABESLAM is an event that aims to entertain, inspire, and uplift its attendees.
