Babeslam's Final Prom Night

On Wednesday, 4 November 2026, at Where Else? in Margate, audiences will see 10 poets compete for the BABESLAM title, each performing their piece related to the theme of PROM NIGHT. • The competition will be scored by the audience, with each performance judged on its merit, and the winner will be crowned the new BABESLAM champion. • A headline set from current Babeslam champion, Bee Onyett, will be a highlight of the night, showcasing their poetry skills. • The event will be hosted by ELZ, who will also perform poems, and there is an optional dress code of Prom nights past and present, adding to the fun and creativity of the night.

The event is the final edition of Babeslam, which has been running for eight years, and ELZ has decided to end the project to make room for new work that better fits their current practice. Tickets are available with the button beside the article, and the event is 18+ only, with photo ID required. This is a unique opportunity to experience the energy and creativity of Babeslam one last time, and to see some of the best new poetry talent in the area.
