Brighton Storywood Workshop
A writing workshop for young storytellers is coming to Brighton, where they can explore classic tales and create their own stories. The workshop, called Welcome to Storywood, is designed for children aged 9 and above.
The Thread Keeper, a mysterious guide, will lead the workshop, inspiring young participants to explore the world of Storywood. This world is where imagination knows no bounds, and classic tales are reimagined with fresh perspectives. The workshop will delve into timeless stories, such as those of Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, and Peter Pan, but with a twist, encouraging participants to think creatively and ask "What if...?".
The workshop is designed to foster curiosity, creativity, and confidence in young storytellers. Through a combination of imaginative discussion, creative writing, drawing, and storytelling, participants will discover the magic of creating their own stories. Each workshop will explore a different classic tale, allowing participants to develop their skills and imagination in a unique and engaging way.
On Monday, 23 November 2026, the Welcome to Storywood workshop will take place at the Theatre Royal Brighton in Brighton. Tickets are with the button beside the article. Every participant will receive a beautifully designed illustrated journal to take home, filled with activities, creative prompts, and space to continue writing long after the workshop has ended. The journal will serve as a reminder of the adventure and a tool to continue exploring the world of Storywood.
