Astronaut Lands

Tin Foil Astronaut, the project of multi-instrumentalist and producer Max Taylor, will perform at Where Else? in Margate on Thursday, 5 November 2026. Based in the Kent countryside, Taylor's music combines surreal, melancholy-tinged lyricism with ethereal textures, creating a glacial dream pop sound. This sound has been praised by critics, with CLASH comparing it to Galaxie 500 filtered through a distortion pedal.

The project began as bedroom demos made with the help of close friends and has since grown into a fully-fledged collective. Tin Foil Astronaut has shared stages with notable bands like Mini Mansions and Broken Hands, and has released a four-track EP, Some Strange Hypnosis, supported by a series of videos set in an absurd, eerie, and dreamlike town. The band's music captures the stresses of everyday life, with Taylor's grounded voice and resplendent guitars creating a unique sound.

Tin Foil Astronaut's music is characterised by its cinematic pop sound, with a focus on atmospheric textures and introspective lyrics. Fans of dream pop and indie music will appreciate the band's distinctive sound, which has been praised for its fuzzed-up edge and melancholy undertones. Tickets are with the button beside the article.
