What would it be like to step into the decadent world of 1930s New York, surrounded by the sounds, sights, and flavours of a bygone era? This is the question that 58th Street, London's secret Jazz Age Experience, invites you to answer. On Friday, 30 October 2026, and Saturday, 31 October 2026, the Theatre Royal Brighton in Brighton will be transformed into Belle Livingstone's infamous 58th Street Country Club, a meticulously recreated and reimagined space that seamlessly blends world-class live jazz, fine dining, cabaret, burlesque, and theatre.
At the heart of the night are The 58th Street Stompers, the all-star house band led by renowned trumpeter 'King' Rory Simmons, whose electrifying performances will transport you directly to the intoxicating spirit of the era. The band is just one part of a larger experience that has been carefully crafted by over 120 artists and creatives, including the acclaimed experience-makers, The Lost Estate. From the moment you arrive, you will be immersed in the glamour and decadence of Jazz Age New York, with its jaw-dropping interiors, outrageous stories, and opulent fine dining.
The evening's culinary delights are a major part of the experience, with an exquisite six-course 'Park Avenue' feast expertly curated to reflect authentic 1930s fine dining. Dishes such as Waldorf 'A La Mode', strip steak with lobster bisque, and a delicious apple tarte fine will be served alongside elegant, classic cocktails and an extensive wine list drawn from the great dining establishments of the 1930s. The 'Soda Fountain' bar at 58th Street will be a popular destination, serving up drinks that are as much a part of the experience as the music and the food.
The story behind 58th Street is a fascinating one, inspired by the thrilling true story of Belle Livingstone, Manhattan's notorious socialite, 'Queen of the Speakeasies', and entrepreneur. Her exploits, including famously smuggling champagne into her clubs under cover of darkness, have become the stuff of legend, and 58th Street invites guests into an extraordinary evening of wild jazz, scandal, excitement, and musical brilliance.
