Folkestone Beyond Text Festival

On Sunday, 1 November 2026, the Quarterhouse in Folkestone will host the Beyond Text Innovative Poetry Festival, a three-day event that will delve into the possibilities of poetry and art. The festival, organised by artBLAB, will feature a diverse range of poets and artists from Folkestone and beyond, who will come together to explore the limits of language and art.

artBLAB, a London-founded nonprofit, has been presenting emerging and established artists through talks, readings, and exhibitions since 2018. The group is closely tied to Michał Kamil Piotrowski, a visual poet and curator based in Folkestone, who runs the collective with curator Marta Grabowska. Piotrowski has a background in experimental poetry and has published several books, including The Cursory Remix and The Idiotlect Dicktionary.

The festival will include workshops, poetry readings, and performances, all of which will challenge traditional notions of poetry and art. With a focus on experimentation and innovation, the event is sure to be engaging for both experienced poetry enthusiasts and those new to the scene. Tickets are with the button beside the article. The festival will run until Tuesday, 3 November 2026, at 23:00, at the Quarterhouse in Folkestone.
