Beyond Text Innovative Poetry

The idea that poetry can exist without language is a radical one, and it's this notion that underpins the Beyond Text Innovative Poetry Festival. Taking place from Saturday, 31 October 2026, to Monday, 2 November 2026, at the Quarterhouse in Folkestone, this festival is a chance to explore the possibilities of poetry and art.

Organised by artBLAB, the festival features a diverse range of poets and artists from Folkestone and beyond, all of whom are experimental in their practice. Despite their differing approaches, they share a common thread - their work is innovative, current, and of exceptional quality.

Through a series of workshops, readings, and performances, the festival will delve into the questions of what poetry can do, and how it can be pushed to new and exciting places. With events catering to both seasoned poetry aficionados and those new to the world of poetry, this festival is an opportunity to engage, think, and be entertained.
