Margate BABESLAM
An open mic event where the audience holds the power, BABESLAM is a unique platform for performers to showcase their talents. With a poetry slam format and a chance to headline the next event, the stakes are high for those taking part.
What draws you to the idea of an open mic event where the audience gets to choose the winner? For some, it's the thrill of discovering new talent, while for others, it's the excitement of watching performers push themselves to be their best. At BABESLAM, the audience will play a crucial role in deciding which performer will take the top spot.
The event, presented by ELZ, will follow a poetry slam format, with each performer given a strict time limit to showcase their skills in poetry, performance, or comedy. A panel of three random audience members will score each performance, and the highest score will win. The winner will then go on to headline the next BABESLAM event, providing a valuable opportunity for performers to gain experience and exposure.
On Wednesday, 25 November 2026, BABESLAM will take place at Where Else? in Margate. Tickets are with the button beside the article. The event aims to provide a platform for new voices, first-timers, and those returning to performance, making it an excellent opportunity for performers to get involved and for audiences to experience something new and exciting.
