Faversham Assembly Rooms Mark Smith

People will hear gripping true stories of those awarded the Victoria Cross, exploring moments of courage, fear, and comradeship in the face of extreme danger. Mark Smith, famed from BBC's "Antiques Roadshow", will reveal the medal's origins and ask the profound question: why do ordinary people perform extraordinary acts of bravery?

The event, titled Hearts of Oak – The Victoria Cross: The Continuing Story, will take place on Wednesday, 18 November 2026, at The Alexander Centre, Faversham.

Mark Smith is an internationally renowned medals expert, and his first show here, "For Valour", sold out last year. In his new show, he will challenge the audience to consider what they would do in extreme situations, often with surprising results. Tickets are with the button beside the article.
