Thanet Cinema Screens Così Fan Tutte

Originating from the 18th century, Mozart's Così fan tutte has been reimagined for the modern era by Netia Jones, Associate Director of The Royal Opera, in her Main Stage debut. This new production sets the comedy of manners in a world where truth and deception are increasingly blurred, with a young cast led by Louise Alder, Simone McIntosh, Mingjie Lei, and Huw Montague Rendall.

Netia Jones is known for her inventive use of digital media, and this production leans into technology to create a dizzying world of shifting reality. The cast is joined by Gerald Finley as the manipulative Don Alfonso and Emily Pogorelc as Despina, with Thomas Hengelbrock conducting the exquisite melodies that underpin the opera's provocative themes.

The screening of Così fan tutte is part of The Royal Ballet and Opera's 2026/27 Cinema Season, which includes ten new opera productions and nine productions broadcast to around 1,500 cinemas. On Wednesday, 4 November 2026, Vue Cinema Thanet - Westwood Cross, Cross in Thanet will show the production. Tickets are with the button beside the article.
