The film is part of a larger franchise, with its roots in the 2014 animated film Maya the Bee, which received mixed reviews from critics but grossed $29.6 million worldwide. Although Arnie & Barney: The Water Quest has not received any notable scores, its predecessor's mixed reception from critics, with 47% of reviews being positive on Rotten Tomatoes, suggests that this new instalment may also have a divided response.

With its lighthearted and comedic tone, Arnie & Barney: The Water Quest is set to entertain audiences of all ages, making it a great choice for a family outing or a fun night out with friends.
