Whitstable Studio Sessions

As you sit down to paint, you'll be surrounded by the objects that inspire your artwork, whether you bring your own treasures or choose from Gaven's selection. The still life setup will be the foundation of your oil painting, and with Gaven's guidance, you'll learn how to capture the play of light and create depth using glazing techniques.

What kind of experience do I need to join the sessions? Gaven works at a pace to suit the class, making the sessions suitable for both beginners and those with more experience, allowing everyone to create a still life painting they can be proud of.

How often will the sessions take place? Each session will occur once a month, allowing for full drying time between layers of paint, and will run from Friday, 6 November 2026, until Friday, 18 December 2026.
