Studio Sessions: Saturday Sewing Club

The Horsebridge Arts Centre (Whitstable)

The Saturday Sewing Club is perfect for those with a little experience who need help and support to master their sewing machine, as well as complete beginners who want to learn the basics. On Saturday, 21 November 2026, at The Horsebridge Arts Centre in Whitstable, participants can join a supportive group session where they will be shown how to set up and use the sewing machine, choose fabrics and patterns, and work on their own projects.

The sessions will cover various techniques such as bag making, buttonholes, and zip insertion, and beginners will be given a small making project to start with. Intermediate sewers, on the other hand, will need to bring a pattern and fabric for their chosen project. With six sewing machines kindly donated by Whitstable and Herne Bay Rotary, participants do not need to bring their own, although they may wish to bring their own sewing kit.

To join the Saturday Sewing Club, tickets are with the button beside the article. The sessions are designed to be flexible, allowing participants to attend one or more sessions depending on their project needs. Tea, coffee, and biscuits will be provided, making for a welcoming and comfortable learning environment.
